Multi channel AVR and it's digital volume control with Acourate

Hi Uli

For a 2nd system, I want to use an old Denon AVR that I have which features 5 channel external input (as well as matching speaker outputs of course), so I can use with this a Focusrite 4i4 (4 channel USB DAC).

My question is about using the AVR's digital volume control (with the remote control) when listening to music with correct filters.

If I do all my measurements with the Focusrite USB DAC set at 0dBFS and I adjusted the Denon AVR digital volume control is set the correct 80dB measurement level for Acourate:

Then when it is time to listen to music with the Acourate correct filters, can I use the Denon AVR's digital volume control to lower or increase music volume?

Or will changing the AVR volume 'mess up' how things have been calibrated when generating the correction filters?

Assume that AVR is running in 'Direct Mode' with no internal DSP (Audessy etc) running of course.

Many thanks

I do not see a problem with using the AVR digital volume control in direct mode.

Thanks Uli. I guess I can always verify that the AVR is not doing anything funky by measuring with REW with AVR at the same digital volume that Acourate measurement was performed.

And then re-measuring with 10dB lower AVR digital volume.

And hopefully the 2 results are very similar/same.
