That’s fantastic. Although I just finished convoluting and CutNWindow my new filters already.
But I’ll be contacting you soon enough for the new version as I might have a new pair of speakers soon. Thanks.

Re: Acourate and the unbalanced stereo setup
Wow… This is amazing. I still have to play around with the Q to avoid the new phase shift causing other unwanted dips in other frequencies. But I presume the phase shift cannot be a pre-filter in the workflow as it’ll get corrected. I’m assuming I would have to add the phase shift after the convolut...

Re: Measurement using 2 devices
So using my laptop’s headphone jack as audio output and the miniDSP UMIK-1 USB microphone seemed to have solved the timing problem. But I’m now wondering if I can do even better. If I just want to record straight from my DAC. I’m wondering if I can first align the microphone using my laptop’s audio ...

Re: Measurement using 2 devices
Oops. You’re right. It’s close but not perfect. I was looking at the test signal, rather than the recorded signal previously.
I guess back to square one. Just need to find time to re-measure. Will use the laptop’s audio RCA output to the amp and USB microphone then.

Re: Measurement using 2 devices
I haven’t tried re-measuring. There is a slight audio delay my DAC introduces. But with the two sets of original measurements for each channel at 48kHz, the 60s sweeps are both exactly 60 seconds long. The left channel starts at 1.5s (and ends at 61.5s) and the right channel starts at exactly 64s (a...

Re: Measurement using 2 devices
Sorry, Uli. I just read this post. And I initially did my measurement using my USB DAC for playback and the miniDSP UMIK-1 USB microphone to record using ASIO4ALL on my laptop. But according to this, wouldn’t using two USB devices create timing problems? My filters seem to run fine and sound fantast...

Re: Alternative to VBA
Thank you, Uli. The explanation was super helpful. For me, the VBA prefilter (after figuring out the optimal cutoff frequency and gain) produced better results than the Alternative to VBA for my system (and to no VBA). So I’m very happy that VBA exists to help me get even more out of my system. Than...

Re: Alternative to VBA
I have been experimenting with VBA on my 2-channel passive speaker system. And I appreciate the effect on top of the convolution filter. I’m about to try the Alternative to VBA to see if I like it. And then my mind keeps wondering, what if I do a VBA, and then the remaining bass peaks that are not t...
