Re: Development of open baffle 3-way plus subs

The allpass is time reversed but not inverted. The uptilting phase curve is caused by a numerical problem. The allpass has the length of 65536 samples counted from 0 to 65535. The max peak is at position 0. After reversion it is at position 65535. For a correct phase display it should be at position...

Re: Development of open baffle 3-way plus subs

Horacio, you use the pulse response to evaluate the required allpass. Therefore you rotate the pulse by -6000 (6000 = peak position) and design the allpass. To see the effect of the allpass you rotate the pulse back by 6000 samples (or load the original pulse), reverse the allpass and convolve both....

Re: Development of open baffle 3-way plus subs

Horacio,

maybe you have missed to rotate first the pulse by -6000 samples. The exact value is the position of the pulse peak. It should be at 0 after rotation

Re: Filter Generation One Way XOver Detection

Check if the XO files have a filename like XO1L48mp.dbl. Then rename them to XO1L48.dbl

Re: Filter Generation One Way XOver Detection

No, it is not a bug. Macro4 simply looks for XO1Lnn.dbl ... files. So you have to check if you have such files in the workspace. Possibly you have to manually rename existing crossovers with different names. This manual step ensures that you know what you are doing whereas otherwise you can quickly ...

Re: Time alignment of drivers in active multiway speaker systems

Mikhail, of course in reality the LTI principle gets more or less hurt. We have to be aware of this situation and we have to live with it. Again more or less. So if a driver creates a lot of IM distortions (we can e.g. measure them by multitone tests) we may only have a chance to look for a better d...

Re: Make multiple measurements

Christian has sent me the script files he uses with Automation Workshop. Thanks. I have not yet studied them by myself but you can download them here And yes, I also have thought several times about adding a script parser to Acourate. But I also have been hesitant. Because such a parser takes much t...

Re: Make multiple measurements

Hi Christian,

thanks for sharing your findings :-:
Please feel invited to send me the script and I will make it available for download.
So the forum users will have a good starting point for using it or even developing their own ideas.

Re: Time alignment of drivers in active multiway speaker systems

Hello Mikhail, we would not be able to listen to music properly if loudspeakers would not behave linearly according to the definition of linear systems. Do not confuse it with a "linear" frequency response ;) So indeed a more complex tone will be properly played as long as it does not exceed the spe...
