Room Macro 2: Target Curve Design

Description:

The desired frequency response at the listening position can be adjusted to taste using this function. Note that anything above the target curve will have a cut in amplitude to match the target curve, whilst all frequencies below the target curve will remain untouched.

It is possible to correct part of the frequency response, for example you can choose to correct only the low frequencies and leave the upper frequencies untouched. Please see partial correction of frequency response.

Options:

  1. These functions can be switched on and off by selecting/deselecting the option box.
  2. Deletes all current settings and loads a new target curve.
  3. These functions can be switched on and off for the current target curve.
  4. For visualisation of a Subsonic Filter. (Please note: this option should be deselected before saving the filter. If a Subsonic filter is desired, the Subsonic option in Macro 4 should be used instead).
  5. Shifts the level of the created target curve so that it is just below the measured curve.

Use:

The created target curve can be adapted to your listening habits or to the music material used. For example, it is possible to raise the level in areas where a hearing test indicates poor hearing. Recordings that were recorded “too thin” can also be adjusted using a suitable target curve.
